Longfield Hospice Care is looking for a chainsaw carver to help us with our Anniversary Sculpture.

2018 is our 30th anniversary. Since 1988, Longfield, formerly Cotswold Care Hospice, has provided free care, therapy and support to thousands of adults in Gloucestershire affected by life limiting illness, and their families, when they need it most.

As part of our 30th Year we will be creating a large sculpture to commemorate Longfield’s contribution to the community and all the wonderful people we have met along the way. Looking to the future, we would like this anniversary to help raise awareness of all the care and support available through Longfield, and to highlight our charity so that we can continue to provide hospice care for they many people in our community who will need  us in the future.

The giant heart sculpture will be carved from wood.  It will be decorated  throughout the year by  as many patients, families, volunteers, supporters and visitors  as possible. Individuals will design and create individual ceramic hearts -  their own creative signature, or a lasting memory of a loved one. The finished sculpture will be sited in our beautiful gardens here at Longfield, a permanent legacy for all to admire.

We are looking for a chainsaw carver to create the basic heart shape form from a tree stump.  So if you are a capable sculptor and would be willing to help,  (or if you know of  someone) please get in touch with me. Thank you.
