You will be providing one-to-one face-to-face and occasional one-to-one telephone counselling to adults who are living with a life-limiting illness, or are the carers or family members of someone with a life limiting illness or have been bereaved.

You will be required to support at least 2 clients per week and each session lasts 50 minutes, plus administration time.  These sessions are held during the day and in the evening and may take place at Longfield or community based venues across Gloucestershire.

You must be a qualified counsellor at diploma level or above and hold appropriate professional body membership.  Monthly supervision sessions will be available, together with review meetings.

In return, we will be able to offer you ongoing training and development sessions specific to your role, to be part of a team and attend team meetings.

You must have a willingness to undertake Longfield’s Supporting Bereaved Adults training session on 14th October 2017 and other relevant training and development sessions.

All these vacancies require excellent listening and communication skills and a non-judgemental attitude.  We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in supporting people with sensitivity and compassion.
