Longfield is a regional training centre for Gold Standards Framework and has been running the Care Home programme since April 2015. Our next programme will start in the autumn of 2021 – more details.
The Gold Standards Framework Care Home programme is designed to help and support care homes to provide the very best care for all residents right up until the end of life. The programme will empower staff and managers, reduce staff turnover, transform the culture of care and significantly reduce inappropriate hospital admissions. The programme is continually revised, to make it accessible and affordable for all care homes.
Widely regarded as the kitemark for quality, the Gold Standard Framework Care Home programme has been completed by over 3,000 care homes across the UK by helping them to provide a more coordinated and compassionate care in line with their residents’ wishes. It has enabled care homes to reduce the number of inappropriate hospital admissions and improve delayed transfer of care.
The Gold Standards Framework programme and accreditation is a proven step towards improved CQC ratings with a significant numbers of GSF accredited care homes now rated ‘outstanding’ by CQC.
With one in five deaths nationally now occurring in a care home and that number expected to rise significantly between now and 2030, there’s never been a more important time to ensure your workforce has all the tools they need to provide the personalised care people want, where they want it.
