Remember a loved one Supporting Longfield in memory of a loved one is a valuable and positive way to celebrate their life. Many friends and families who know someone who has received our care want to give something back to the community so that we may offer support to another family at such a difficult time. You can make a real difference to someone living with a life-limiting illness now and in the future. Donating at a funeral or memorial service One way to celebrate the life of a loved one is to ask family and friends to make a donation at their funeral service. For example, often people choose to make a donation in lieu of flowers. To make collecting money at funerals and memorial services as easy as possible, we can provide your funeral director with our in memoriam envelopes. Please call the fundraising team on 01453 886868 to request our in memoriam donation envelopes. Your funeral director can then collect the donations for you, and send them directly to the hospice. Please make cheques payable to ‘Longfield.’ Fundraising in memory Set up an Allium Tribute Fund You can create your very own tribute page on our website by following this link, where you can describe the person you're remembering using words, photos and videos and explain why you're raising money in their memory. Your friends and family can give directly to your page easily, safely and securely, wherever they are, whenever they want to. Take part in one of our events Getting a group of people together and taking part in one of our events is a great way to spend time with all the people who cared about your loved one whilst raising money for the Hospice. Organise your own event You might like to celebrate the life of a loved one by organising your own event. Organise a community event to celebrate their life. From inviting your friends and family for an afternoon tea to arranging a fancy dress day with your colleagues at work; the possibilities are endless. Why not organise something your loved one really enjoyed doing? You might choose to hold the event annually on a special day or it might be a one-off event. For ideas on events, please call the fundraising team on 01453 886868. Challenge yourself Choose a challenge personal to you and dedicate the funds you raise in their memory. You can do this on your own, or get a group of friends together. See our Challenge pages for more information. Light up a Life Christmas is a time for family and friends. For enjoying the loved ones around us, and remembering and celebrating the ones no longer with us. Each year in December we invite the community to come along to our Light up a Life service to remember a loved one. Light up a Life is a moving and inspiring way to remember family and friends and celebrate how much they will always mean to us. By dedicating a star to a loved one, you can help their memory live on this Christmas and beyond.
