Longfield Hospice, nr Stroud
Salary – £52,000 per annum
Full time – 37.5 hours per week
We are looking for a Director of Care to join our Senior Management Team, lead the hospice care agenda and provide community hospice and palliative day care services for patients in Gloucestershire.
Longfield is a community hospice charity, in a beautiful setting near Stroud. We believe that everyone touched by a life-limiting illness in Gloucestershire should benefit from free hospice care. We support people to live well after diagnosis through a range of day services for them and their loved ones and, when the time comes, we provide hospice at home care, enabling them to have the choice of dying in the comfort of their own home. We also provide support to their families and carers, including bereavement counselling.
We are looking for a clinically experienced, passionate individual to lead our care team, deliver patient-focussed services and help shape our palliative care provision fit for the future.
You will work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team, trustees, colleagues in other services across the hospice, and health and social care professionals across the county to deliver the organisational objectives. You will have senior management experience within a clinical setting, preferably in a palliative care or similar patient-centred service. As you will be the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission, experience of ensuring regulatory requirements are met is essential.
A strategic thinker, strong communicator with excellent leadership skills, you will be pivotal in delivering the care strategy for the organisation.
We offer a competitive benefits package which includes 38 days holiday, Life Assurance scheme and the option to join a pension scheme or continue the NHS Superannuation pension scheme.
Longfield is a truly wonderful place to work and we are proud of our modern, purpose-built facilities, fantastic grounds, free parking and amazing staff and volunteers. The Director of Care is a highly rewarding and varied role with a well-regarded charity, which makes a genuine difference to lives and deaths across the county.
