Information for Families and Carers

Discussing your needs

We recognise and understand that caring for or perhaps living with a loved one or friend with a diagnosis of a life-limiting illness brings many challenges. Coming to terms with a loved one facing death is an extremely difficult and emotional time and Longfield are here to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and support you and those around you. We are currently providing a range of services via Zoom, but if you’re worried or need help using IT, get in touch with us for support.

Longfield Hospice helps you to regain control of your own emotional wellbeing and will provide you with any information necessary to help you and your loved one(s) access any appropriate services. All services provided by Longfield can be accessed free-of-charge.

Getting in touch

The first step is to get in touch and we can chat through the ways Longfield may be able to help you or your loved ones. We can talk over the phone or via video call to determine how best we can help, or if there is an alternative organisation that would better suit your needs. Our team is professional and friendly and will listen carefully to your needs before making any recommendations.

For anyone wishing to access any of our services or self-refer-please call the hospice on 01453 886868 or email  day.services@longfield.org.uk. We will return your call or email as quickly as we possibly can.

Please note that if you are interested in accessing our Hospice at Home services for family members or loved ones, referrals need to be made by a healthcare professional, such as a district nurse, GP, consultant or clinical nurse specialist.
