Remembering your loved one

Many friends and families of those who have received our care feel moved to give something back to the community, so that we may support others at such a difficult time in their lives.

You can make a real difference to someone living with a life-limiting illness now and in the future.

Donating at a funeral or memorial service

One way to celebrate the life of a loved one is to ask family and friends to donate at their funeral service. For example, people often choose to donate in lieu of flowers. To make collecting money at funerals and memorial services as easy as possible, we can provide your funeral director with our in-memoriam envelopes. Please call the fundraising team on 01453 886868 for further details. Your funeral director can then collect the donations for you and send them directly to the hospice. Please remember that any cheques should be made payable to ‘Longfield.’

Take part in one of our events

Getting a group of people together and taking part in one of our events is a great way to spend time with those who cared about your loved one whilst raising money in their memory.

Organise your own event

You might like to celebrate the life of a loved one by organising your own community event. From inviting your friends and family for an afternoon tea, to arranging a fancy-dress day with your colleagues at work; the possibilities are endless. Why not organise something your loved one really enjoyed doing? You might choose to hold the event annually on a special day or it might be a one-off event. For ideas on events, please call the fundraising team on 01453 886868 or email [email protected]. We’ll be happy to help

Challenge yourself

Choose a challenge personal to you and dedicate the funds you raise in memory of your loved one. You can do this on your own or get a group of friends together.

See our Challenge pages for more information.

Light up a Life

Christmas is a time for family and friends. For enjoying the company of those loved ones around us, but also remembering and celebrating those no longer with us.

Each year in December we invite the community to come along to our Light up a Life Celebration to remember a loved one. Light up a Life is a moving and inspiring way to remember family and friends and celebrate how much they will always mean to us. By dedicating a star to a loved one, you can help their memory live on this Christmas and beyond.

Remember your loved one with an Allium Tribute Fund, and help their memory to live on.

We can help you create your very own tribute page website. Here you can describe the person you're remembering using words, photos and videos and explain why you're raising money in their memory. Your friends and family can give directly to your page easily, safely and securely, wherever they are, whenever they want to.  Please email us to help us set up your page with you.

You can decide how much you want to raise in memory of your loved one, and how long you want the tribute page to be active for. Some supporters fundraise in memory of their loved one over the course of a year, whilst others continue fundraising for a lifetime.

Follow these easy steps:

1. Set up your online page - Please email us and we can help you create your tribute fund

2. You will be able to personalise your page - add videos, quotes and photos of your loved one.

3. Share your tribute fund - send it to your friends and family using email and social media.

4. Grow your tribute fund - all the money you raise will go directly towards funding the care of our patients with life-limiting illnesses.
