As part of Longfield’s Programme of palliative and end-of-life care education and training, we are pleased to announce the forthcoming Level 3 Certificate in ‘The Principles of End-of-Life Care’.
This accredited qualification is designed to support the development of health and social care staff who work in care homes, domiciliary care and general health and social care settings.
This study programme provides learners with a flexible approach to gaining qualifications and supports their continuing professional development (CPD). It is designed for those who wish to gain a nationally recognised accredited qualification and supports the development of their knowledge and skills whilst they work.
The qualification comprises of five mandatory units and is taught over five 1-day workshops via Zoom. The programme is mapped to the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) and learners will gain 16 learning credits upon completion. Each credit requires approximately 10 hours of guided learning with learners needing to complete approximately 160 hours of study. The qualification will be achieved by attending all workshops and through further reading, research and completion of all written assignments.

Programme completion is achieved when all units are completed, written assignments have been completed, assessed and passed and a portfolio of evidence submitted.
