Will you help people with life-limiting illnesses spend Christmas at home?

There’s nothing more special than being home for Christmas, surrounded by your closest family. For people with life-limiting illnesses, this time of year is even more poignant. Nobody wants to spend Christmas in a hospital bed.

Longfield Hospice offer expert free care and support to terminally ill people in their own homes. Our Hospice at Home team visit patients across Gloucestershire up to three times a day, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable and taking the pressure off loved ones.

Peter’s Story

Eileen’s brilliant husband, Peter, was a man full of life, love and laughter – even when he was terminally ill with cancer. Peter’s last wish was to spend Christmas with his family, in their home of 43 years.

Thanks to Longfield Hospice Peter got his wish. With the support of the Hospice at Home team he spent Christmas at home, surrounded by the people who loved him most. He looked frail and tired, but happy. When his wife, Eileen, closes her eyes, she can still see their grandson snuggled up on Peter’s bed while they read a book together.

“I describe our last Christmas with Peter as the most incredible gift – made possible by supporters like you, who we’d never even met. Thank you.” Eileen, Peter’s wife

Give £20 or more, or set up a monthly gift, and we’ll send you a beautiful Christmas decoration to keep. Please give whatever you can afford to help others in the Community this Christmas.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity this Christmas.
