Senior Management Team

Around 145, mostly part-time, staff work for Longfield in a huge variety of roles along with over 400 volunteers. Each person contributes towards our aim of providing care and support for people in Gloucestershire living with a life-limiting illness, their families and carers.

The organisation is managed by the Senior Management Team led by the Chief Executive.

Clare Davis- Chief Executive

Clare joins Longfield with two decades of experience in both the commercial and voluntary sector, most recently at national charity Pets As Therapy.

 

 

 

 

Sue Parris - Director of Care Services

Sue Parris joined the executive team as Director of Care Services on 8 March 2021. Sue is a registered nurse with more than 30 years working in the NHS mainly in community settings.

Sue is a member of the senior leadership team and responsible for the overall management of the care services team which includes our day services, carer and bereavement support, education and Hospice at Home. Her role also includes strategy, service development, service improvement and governance. Sue is the Registered Manager for Longfield with a legal responsibility to ensure that the charity meets and complies with the national standards of quality and safety.

Duncan Smith – Interim Head of Finance

Duncan joined Longfield in October 2023 and brings a broad range of skills including finance, commercial planning, and business development in the charity sector.

 

 

 

Louise Cook - Head of Fundraising and Marketing

Louise joined Longfield in 2022, having worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years. She has previous experience of fundraising at Cancer Research UK, Macmillan, Barnardo’s, and the Norfolk & Norwich Hospitals Charity. She holds an MBA from

Imperial College and recently completed the International Advanced Diploma in Fundraising from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. Louise is also the Vice-Chair of the CIOF Health Special Interest Group.

Laura Owen - Head of Retail

Laura joined Longfield in Feb 2020. Since joining, the retail operation has significantly increased in turnover and continues to develop and grow.

Laura has an extensive commercial retail background, including 13 years at Clarks shoes where she held various managerial roles across Gloucestershire and the West Midlands.

Laura also has a background in L&D, working for The Stroke Association as an online learning designer and Babcock International Training, as an apprenticeship trainer and qualified assessor.

Laura lives in Worcester with her husband and miniature dachshund, who she enjoys taking for (short) walks.

Debbie Linton - Head of Facilities, Estates and IT

Debbie has been at Longfield for 5 years. She brought with her a variety of experience and knowledge from different industries which includes Construction, Facilities Management and Health and Safety. Debbie’s role covers a wide range of operational support for the Hospice, including Facilities, Hospitality, Estates, IT, Infection Control and Health and Safety. In her spare time, she is often found at the gym.
