His Royal Highness opened Longfield’s first building in 1990 (then known as Cotswold Care Hospice). On December 22, 2008, the Prince of Wales opened the charity’s new state-of-the-art building.
The Prince of Wales said, at the opening: “I have been coming here in one way or another for 20 years and I am so pleased to be here today.
“So much effort and hard work has made it possible to build this care hospice. I do realise how much effort goes into all of this.
“This building has made a great difference to all the people here. The staff here make a huge difference to all the patients who come in.
“It is pleasing this remarkable service can be provided in this part of the country.”
