"I was allowed the opportunity to talk and express my feelings in a tranquil and safe environment. I could shed my tears in private, knowing I would not be judged. I learnt how to cope with my grief."

Bereavement Counselling

Grief is a very natural response to loss. It is unique to each individual and will depend on the circumstances of the death, your relationship with the deceased and your own personality and feelings. There is no right, wrong or normal way to grieve and for some people it is helpful to talk about and explore your feelings. Talking openly about your grief may help you find a different perspective on things, or a deeper understanding of yourself and your situation. You may also try out new ways of coping with your feelings and what is happening to you.

Our team of professional counselling staff and volunteers offer counselling and bereavement support on a one-to-one basis. We offer telephone, online, Counselling in Nature, and face-to-face counselling to suit your needs.

We would like to thank the following organisations for their recent generous support of our Counselling and Bereavement Counselling Services for patients, family carers and bereaved adults:

The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund (PWCF)
Gloucestershire County Council ‘Thriving Communities Fund’
The Carers Gloucestershire Legacy Fund through Gloucestershire Community Foundation
