This 3-day course is aimed at those who teach and provide learning opportunities within Palliative and End of Life Care settings.  Delegates do not need to be from a clinical background.  It is suitable for those who have had little or no formal training in this area or require a refresher/update of their training knowledge and skills.  The course will introduce practitioners to the principles of learning and develop their confidence and skills in a variety of teaching and learning approaches.  

Learning Outcomes:

  • gain knowledge and understanding of principles of learning, theories and styles
  • have the opportunity to practise, review and reflect on teaching experiences
  • plan and prepare a group teaching session including a lesson plan, aims and objectives, and appropriate evaluation processes
  • develop confidence and skills in a variety of approaches to teaching and learning
  • develop at least one teaching resource relevant to hospice and/or end of life care education
