This workshop is for healthcare professionals caring for people at the end of their lives and working in Gloucestershire and the South West region.  It will provide learners with an introduction to planning for and managing difficult conversations in end of life care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • explore common barriers to difficult conversations in a variety of healthcare settings
  • demonstrate a client-centred, evidence-based model of communications and apply that to difficult conversations around end of life care and Advance Care Planning in their clinical practice
  • Reflect on their own and others' communication styles; identifying good practice
  • consider helpful ways to have difficult conversations with couples
